Try out this question for extra credit: Hospitals estimate that the total area of a person's body is 100 times greater than the area of one side of their hand.
Find your surface area by doing the following:
1) Place your hand flat on a sheet of grid paper. Close your fingers, than trace your hand. Do not include your wrist.
2) Place a mark inside the squares that are more than half squares enclosed in the outline.
3) Count the number of marks. This is the area of your hand in square centimeters.
4) Multiply this area by 100 to find the total skin area of your body.
(Area of hand x 100 = total skin area)
Bring in your grid paper showing that you have completed all the steps above for 5 points extra credit. (Next term)
*****The only day this extra credit will be accepted is this Friday, Jan 15.*****
FYI: The end of the second term is this Friday. If you have not completed any assignments, you need to get them completed by Jan 15th. Zero's have a major negative impact on a grade average. So, don't play around, settle down to work and get missing assignments completed!
